ANCHIETA
36km, E.S.-60 from Guarapari, it is a small town where priest
Anchieta lived and died, having historical buildings and beautiful
beaches. The Our Lady Assumption church was built with reef
rocks, whale oil mortar and ground shell whitewash.
In
the cell where the priest died in 1597, sits a small museum
with the Jesuit�s belongings such as, his wooden crucifix
and his coarse furniture. Coves of calm and transparent sea
are present at resorts of Iriri, Ubu and Castelhanos.
PIÚMA
Located 36km, E.S.-60 from Guarapari. In downtown, one can
find shell handicraft and the Coqueiral beach, ideal for children.
Surfers stay at Rio Piúma estuary and surf on the Boca
da Barra waves. From Monte Aghá one can go for a stroll
at Cabrito islands, Gambá, (den of birds), French (where
the Jew�s grotto is located), Middle, adorned with bromeliads
and orchids
MARATAÍZES
56 km from Guarapari, E.S.-60. Main beach of Itapemirim, a
place for the young. Water is dark blue due to Itapemirim
river estuary, north. Bars and restaurants, place for Jet-ski
renting can be found. Next to Siri beach lies Siri lagoon,
with boats and kayaks. Swallows flight can be seen at Cações
cove, which has clear and bright sand, surrounded by mounts.
